Destiny Media Technologies, Inc.
Announces Release of Clipstream™ Audio 3.0
Vancouver B.C. – July 25, 2006 – Destiny
Media Technologies (BB:DSNY.OB) is pleased to announce the long anticipated
release of Clipstream™ Audio 3.0, featuring high quality CD
audio. In the past, this would have required site visitors to download
and install an MP3 player. Assuming the software was available, users
would select the appropriate bitrate, then wait for the player to
launch. In most cases, they would be taken from the web page they
were viewing to a pop up player window that varied from user to user
in look and feel.
Clipstream™ plays instantly for 98% of the Internet audience,
regardless of their connection speed, operating system and browser.
“It just plays!” even through corporate firewalls. Audio
content can be tightly integrated into the web page. No special servers
are required and because the content caches, playback is much more
reliable, requiring up to 90% less bandwidth than competing solutions.
Users can seek to any place in the audio, including parts that have
not yet downloaded. A two hour clip responds just as efficiently as
a two minute clip. The time stamp allows precise access to any point
in the sample.
To add a clip to their website, a content owner would process an audio
file, such as a .WAV through the Clipstream™ Audio encoder software,
then upload the resulting page to their site. The Clipstream™
Audio clip is compatible with all web servers and operating systems.
No other Internet audio software offers the rich feature set of Clipstream™.
The look and feel of the player can be customized or the player can
be eliminated altogether, using common web languages such as Javascript
to access playback controls and functionality. This allows web developers
to create interactive presentations where audio playback is triggered
by interaction with the site. Examples might include ads that speak
when the mouse hovers over them, web pages that provide navigational
instructions as the site visitor interacts with page elements and
audio versions of pages for the blind.
Database driven applications could include audio powered classified
sites, audio powered search, music previewing or audio based interactive
learning.
For many applications, security is important. Clipstream™ Audio
playback can be restricted to play only on authorized domains, so
the content is locked to that site. Other features include the ability
to trigger other clips, pictures or to have the audio link to other
websites.
Clipstream™ Audio 3.0 is available starting July 25, 2006 from
http://www.clipstreamaudio.com. The lite version is $29.95 and the
pro version starts at $99.95 for 25 clips, $199.95 for 200 clips,
$499.95 for 1,000 clips and $.25 per clip above 1,000 clips. Quantity
discounts are available so volume users such as web developers can
pre-purchase licenses, then profitably resell Clipstream™ Audio
to their customers.
