Oct. 17, 2002

Vancouver, BC -- Destiny Media Technologies Inc. (OTCBB:DSNY) is pleased to announce the launch of the RadioDestiny Broadcaster ™ and the Destiny Media Player ™ as a retail packaged consumer product suite. The full featured boxed version of these products will be available to mass market retailers in North America, Europe and Asia under the new branding, Pirate Radio ™.

Professional licensing will continue to be available to commercial broadcasters under the brand name RadioDestiny ™.

Management assistance for this new initiative will be provided by Kerry Williams who is on the Advisory Board to Destiny. Mr. Williams, most recently an Executive Vice President at Corel Corporation (Nasdaq: CORL), held product management responsibility at Corel including their annual $100 million ad budget. His experience and abilities will ensure a successful roll out and market penetration for Pirate Radio ™.

The positioning and messaging strategy for Pirate Radio ™ will focus on the ability for anyone to exercise their right of free speech to a global audience and to expose the world to unique and special interest programming, local music and commentary. Listeners can "tune in" to the online streams without downloading any player software by clicking on a Clipstream™ enabled "Instant Play" link at the real time directory at http://www.pirateradionetwork.com. Alternatively, they can download the award winning Destiny Media Player ™ from http://www.pirateradio.com at no cost. The Destiny Media Player ™ will play music CD's, music and videos in almost any popular format including MP3 and it will stream a high quality version of all of the internet radio streams.

Broadcasting is extremely simple, requiring only a home PC with sound card, microphone and a broadband connection. As soon as a broadcast is launched, the station is instantly added to the real time directory that is available both online at www.pirateradio.com and directly inside the Destiny Media Player ™. The Destiny Media Player has been downloaded by an estimated five million users; providing an instant audience for anyone with something to say.
